Sculpture International Rotterdam expresses its concerns about disappearance Ai Wei Wei
Chinese artist Ai Weiwei has diappeared since last Sunday, 3rd of April. Sculpture International Rotterdam expresses its support to the artist and its concern about his disappearance.
Visual artist Ai Weiwei (53) is well known for his work on the stadium in Beijing, but is also known for his criticism to the Chinese government. Last Sunday, Ai Weiwei was caught on the airport of Beijing. No reason was given.
In commission of Sculpture International Rotterdam and Hart van Zuid, Ai Weiwie developed an art project for shopping mall Zuidplein in Rotterdam, “The Dragon’s Tail”. It was planned to realise the plan in 2012.
