What is beautiful, takes effort – flowers for Erasmus
Today,  Sculpture International Rotterdam on the occasion of Erasmus’ birthday on 28 October in (probably) 1469, placed a big bundle of flowers underneath the statue by Hendrick de Keyser. De tekst  "Wat mooi is, kost moeite" (What is beautiful, takes effort) is from the Adagia, published in 1500.
