Eerbetoon aan een Avenue website
Coolsingel is vast, eclectic, chaotic, and full of history. The avenue is a place where the memories of many events are stored, masterpieces of international art can be seen, and hundreds of ornaments from the Wederopbouw (post-war reconstruction) period can be found on the buildings. Indeed, the avenue’s potency is considerable. With Tribute to an Avenue, Sculpture International Rotterdam explores another possible reality for the Coolsingel. What would this city boulevard look like if it was used for dancing, walking, singing, crying, discussing, skating or flying kites, and instead of advertising there were movies on the buildings?
